OCEAN PLOUGH

South Sea Logistics have recently launched their newest addition to the fleet, a sea bed levelling plough. This plough has recently proven itself in a recent project in Shark Bay, Western Australia removing 6000 cubic metres of high spots from the export facility to ensure safe and efficient shipping for the ships and pilot boats. The sea bed leveller is a new Lloyd's register compliant design which is fitted from a suspended "A" frame from South Sea Logistics tug Reliance. This 4tn plough is capable of deepening and widening berth pockets, shipping channels, fairways and anchorages and removal of silt deposits from berth pockets and can dredge up to 18m in depth.

The Plough is easily adjustable to suit the depth and the environment in which it works. The Plough has a range of settings which can easily be changed by the way of a variety of fixed Pad Eye settings  for taking larger cuts of the Sea Bed, or the two Flexible Pad Eyes located at the front of the Plough for a more precise way of Sweeping the Sea Bed at the desired depth.

The Plough is also designed to be easily mobilised and can be fitted to any tug with similar dimensions. It has been designed so it fits on the back of the vessel (Reliance) very securely and safely and can be easily mobilised to its desired destination. This hassle free mobilisation cuts down on transportation costs making it a simple cost effective solution to your dredging needs.

The Plough can also remove a wide range of different sea bed materials including sand, shoal, mud, rubble and shell grit.

South Sea Logistics have been very happy with the design and performance as she is very easily mobilised, low maintenance and creates a minimal plume disturbing the sensitive marine environment.
