Introducing South Sea Logistics latest addition to our ever-growing fleet of vessels, the multi-purpose line boat Wave Force. The Wave Force was built by Alnmaritec boat builders, based in Blyth in the United Kingdom, who specialise in the design and construction of aluminium workboats.
This 12.20 metre beauty is an aluminium asymmetric catamaran based upon her sister vessel, the highly successful Alnmaritec ‘Wave Train’ hull form. She is very robustly built and is fitted with powerful twin diesel ‘Cummins’ engines giving her 1000bhp of installed power, and a pair of ‘Traktor Jets’ from North American Marine Jets designed specifically to give her exceptionally high bollard pull for line handling work whilst retaining all the advantages of a water jet propulsion package on the boat. These propulsions and design also supply her with excellent manoeuvrability, capability to reach up to 25 knots in speed and is proven to be a stable work platform in adverse weather conditions.
The Wave Force has a roomy wheelhouse installed with air conditioning and seating for up to six passengers and two crew and is also fitted with toilet facilities. Rescue zones on both port and starboard sides have been installed as well as a fire response deluge system to serve as a fast response vessel in emergency and rescue operations.
She is equipped with a 2 tonne hydraulic capstan and a 5 tonne tow post with quick release hook on the spacious aft working deck. She is currently servicing the coast of Carnarvon, Western Australia, supplying services such as vessel to vessel transfers, line handling, safe crew transfers due to being equipped with a bow landing platform, and safe dive operations due to being installed with waterjets.
